Cookery Sessions

 

At SEND R US CIC, our Cookery Sessions bring families together in a fun, supportive environment where participants can learn new skills, build confidence, and enjoy the experience of preparing food together.

These hands-on sessions are designed to be inclusive, relaxed, and accessible, allowing young people, and families with special educational needs and disabilities to explore cooking at their own pace. Participants are supported to take part in simple, enjoyable recipes while learning practical kitchen skills such as preparing ingredients, following instructions, and working safely in the kitchen.

Cooking together is not only a valuable life skill, but also a wonderful way to encourage creativity, independence, and teamwork. Our sessions help participants gain confidence while discovering new foods and developing healthy eating habits.

Just as importantly, the sessions create a social space where families can connect, share experiences, and feel part of a welcoming community. Many participants find that cooking together provides a sense of achievement and pride as they create something they can enjoy and share with others.

Our Cookery Sessions are about much more than just food — they are about building skills, strengthening confidence, and creating positive experiences for families within a supportive community.

    Yoga and Wellbeing

     Our Slow Flow Yoga & Wellbeing Sessions are designed to provide a calm, welcoming space where families and individuals can slow down, breathe, and reconnect with their bodies and minds.

    These gentle sessions focus on slow, flowing movements, mindful breathing, and simple relaxation techniques to help reduce stress, improve wellbeing, and build confidence. The pace is relaxed and accessible, making the sessions suitable for a wide range of abilities and experience levels.

     

    Sessions may include light stretching, guided breathing exercises, and calming mindfulness activities that encourage relaxation and emotional balance.

    For many families, life can be busy and demanding. These sessions offer a valuable opportunity to pause, recharge, and prioritise wellbeing, while also connecting with others in a supportive community setting.
