We are holding 2 sessions at Ashley High School on Thursday 6th October and Thursday 13th October.
Message us to book a place.
This is the first of our courses that will be running until January 2023. The courses are in blocks of 3, giving our families the opportunity to learn recipes, tips and techniques in the kitchen, whilst our SEND children can also take part with chopping and cooking.
Food is a fabulous way to bring people together. As they say, the kitchen is the heart of the home. If at no other time, food round the table can bring families together in the home.
We, at SEND R US, have incorporated food as one of our staple offers. We have a couple of reasons for this.
Our first reason, as already mentioned, is it brings people together. Mothers, fathers, carers, children and individuals attend our courses where they can spend quality time in a relaxed environment. As well as learning new skills, it promotes the opportunity for social skills to be developed for our service users with SEND.
Families also get to meet other families who have similar experiences through SEND, and friendships can be formed.
Our second reason is to deliver cookery sessions that teach how to batch cook tasty meals on a budget.
Learn recipes to cook from scratch, learn how to utilise leftovers, reduce waste and receive tips and techniques for preparing and storing food.
All ingredients supplied, and you take away what you make!
We recognise that we are in a cost of living crisis, and one thing we don't want families to compromise on is feeding their families or themselves.
